1. How much does it cost per session, can I just send a deposit and do you offer refunds?

One session is two weeks long. The cost for one session is $550.00. The cost for two sessions is $500.00 per session. A minimum deposit of $350 per session will hold your spot. The balance must be paid in full by June 1st. Deposits are not refundable. There are no refunds for missed days during the sessions.

If my child attends for all four weeks will there be any duplication in the program?

All projects are novel and offer a chance to learn new skills. The themes offer completely different curriculum. We recommend attending all four weeks in order to see our long term 4 week long projects through to fruition. We promise your child will not be bored, each session complements the other.

3. Is there aftercare?

No aftercare is offered. Pick up time is 4:00 PM everyday.

4. What about snack?

Workshop in the woods provides morning juice at 10:30AM and ice pops in the afternoon. There is a bubbler available during the day. All snacks and lunches are brought from home. Please note: do not send products which contain nuts as some children have severe nut allergies.

5. Can I request that my child be placed in a group with a friend?

Yes, if they are in the same age group. Everyone is assigned to groups according to age.

6. Are swimming and water sports available?

Workshop in the Woods has a beautiful waterfront on Baldpate Pond. We use this lake for fishing, nature study, and kayaking. The Georgetown Conservation Commission does not permit swimming. Water "sports" at Workshop in the Woods include water bottle rockets, dodging water balloons and watering the plants. On the first Friday of each session Kayaking is offered for an additional charge to the older groups or students.

7. How are children grouped and what is the child/intern ratio?

Children are grouped according to age; boys and girls together. An average group has 20 children. There are 4 - 5 interns for each group who travel with the group throughout the day and stay with the group at the Workshop activities.

At each Workshop there is an adult Specialist accompanied by one or two Interns. This creates a ratio of 2 or 3 children to every staff. We have a large and experienced staff. Many of our staff were once campers at WSW.

The Workshop Specialists are teachers in public schools or have 5 or more years experience working with children. Many our Senior Interns are returning from last years program. We have a multi-session training and orientation for Workshop in the Woods interns.

8. What are the hours for the program?

Program hours are from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

9. Is Workshop in the Woods a Camp?
